Dr Gosia Swadźba-Kwaśny and Emily Byrne represented the group at the 8th International Congress on Ionic Liquids (COIL-8), which took place 13-17 May in Beijing, China. Gosia was delighted to deliver an invited plenary talk on the group’s newest work with Lewis acidic ionic liquids, and Emily brought home a poster prize, sponsored by PCCP, for her work on hydrophobic deep eutectic solvents.
Very intensive programme, some fantastic talks and a vibrant poster session with +200 participants were definitely worth the long flight, but most important was the chance to meet old and new friends across the ionic liquids comunity! COIL-8 definitely offered a fantastic atmosphere for networking… and some sightseeing 🙂
We are already looking forward to COIL-9 – Lyon 2021, here we come!
